Now Software says, "Version 5 is not just a Tiger compatibility upgrade. It is a major update to the product.... We are now testing NUDC version 4.5.3 with the final release version of Tiger. If version 4.5.3 proves not to be compatible it is our plan to have a solution for our customers early this week."

Maurice Coombs adds: "I was experiencing corruption problems with files attached to outgoing messages sent by way of Entourage 2004. At the suggestion of Microsoft (Canada) Support, I changed the preferences in Entourage so that attachments are set to be encoded '... For any computer (AppleDouble); no compression; Windows file name extension' instead of 'Windows Mime/Base 64'. This appears to have fixed the problem for me." Maurice Coombs updates: "I thought switching my Entourage preferences for outgoing email attachments to Apple-Double was successful. It is. But ONLY SOME of the time." Two readers report that the AppleDouble settings did not work for them.

Richard Brackin reports: "Adobe Premiere v6.5 doesn't completely work in Tiger. It's possibly due to Quicktime v7. You can edit video but you can't capture video or export the timeline (movie, frame, or audio). I would suggest people working in 10.3.9 or older versions to avoid updating to Quicktime v7 if they need to use Premiere." Al Parrillo adds "I've had the same problem with Adobe Premiere 6.5 crashing under OS 10.4, when I've tried exporting the timeline (Movie, Audio or Frame). I've had to revert to a separate OS 10.3.9 boot disk to avoid the crash. My experience is that it's not QuickTime 7 causing the problem, since I also run QuickTime 7 under OS 10.3.9. I'm hoping (perhaps in vain) for a solution under OS 10.4.1." Kevin Harrington also adds: "I can confirm that Adobe Premiere 6.5 crashes (with Tiger on G4 laptop) when attempting to make a movie. Works fine in edit mode as far as I can see. Saw the note about 10.4.1 update on Macintouch. Dowloaded and installed the 10.4.1 update last night, but Adobe Premiere still crashes upon attempt to make a movie."
